People and Places and Things We Love

WE LOVE TRACEY!!

And we love Tracey's really cool blog.

In this case is a collection of stories about people and their experiences with the law. The stories are told in the words of the people who tell them. There are lawyers, of course, and then lots of (gasp) non-lawyers. It's a cool place to spend some time. And Tracey looks just like the little red-haired girl from Charlie Brown, which is really cool.

In this case

WE LOVE JEANNE!!

Jeanne is pronounced "Jean-nie" (as in "I dream of Jean-nie").

And we love Jeanne's photos of DC.

Almost as much as we love eating hummus with Jeanne, playing Scrabble with her and having her edit our grammar.

WE REALLY LOVE FREE MINDS AND THEIR INCREDIBLE WORK!!

two feet by Wilbert, age 18

many people walk into life
two feet echoing from left to right
two feet bearing with it history
of the one who survived simple chaos
two feet that continue one step at a time
but those feet suffering and destruction it combines
two feet that want to get to the end
not caring how many darts it takes
hitting his thoughts
stinging his emotions
ripping his feelings
crushing his goals
but those two feet continue its path

WE LOVE DC STANDUP!!

We love the really good and nice people in DC who do stand up well.

WE LOVE THEM!

To be funny and brave enough to get up in front of people and take risks and then be consistently nice on top of that? That rocks!

WE LOVE THE DC MINDFULNESS COMMUNITY!!

DC has Tara Brach.

Now THAT is good karma. If you haven't heard Tara Brach speak yet, you have a lot to look forward to in your life. It's never too late for a little peace.

WE LOVE A FABULOUS DC CAFE!!

Here is Addie enjoying some of the spirits at Cafe Ole thanks to our friend Bruce. Note how Bruce is completely ignoring Addie's sippy cup filled with water and giving her a sip from something better instead.

Cafe Luna for the BEST Sweet Potato Fries anywhere!

Cafe Ole, where dogs and other kinds of people can share hummus, pita and laughs

Byblos, a Cleveland Park MUST....tell the owner Marc that the "wild girls" sent you

Yanni's. Yum. They'll bring as many slices of tomatoes as you want!

WE LOVE HANK AARON

Hank Aaron did it without the assistance of performance-enhancing drugs. All Hank Aaron had was death threats, racial slurs and hate mail. And he did it.

"I never doubted my ability, but when you hear all your life you're inferior, it makes you wonder if the other guys have something you've never seen before. If they do, I'm still looking for it." Hank Aaron
